Levels of Care
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP is the most comprehensive outpatient program available. It serves as a preventive program to hospitalization, as well as a solid bridge for those stepping down from hospitalizations or residential treatment programs. In PHP, clients attend programming five days a week for six hours per day.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
IOP is designed to help individuals who are experiencing an increase in distressing symptoms and behaviors or are not progressing in traditional outpatient services. The extra treatment and support foster meaningful improvement and create a solid foundation for clients transitioning to community treatment. Our IOP meets in-person three to five days a week for three hours a day.
Our Program
At Aster Springs Outpatient – Columbus, we provide customized care that’s designed to meet each client’s specific needs and unique goals. We understand that people are not their diagnosis; they’re a combination of all that’s happened in their lives and their future journeys. Because of this, our treatment team partners with clients and their families to design treatment plans that provide a successful pathway to recovery. Treatment can include psychotherapy groups, individual and family therapy, nutrition education, meal planning and support, and aftercare planning and assistance.
Our clinical team creates intensive treatment plans that allows each client to explore new ways to enjoy life. In a supportive and healing environment, we take a whole-person approach to treatment using evidence-based modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, experiential and expressive therapies (art, movement, music, yoga), and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) that facilitate progress from clinical care towards independent self-care. Our program provides tailored psychotherapy groups that meet each week to teach our clients practical ways to handle life’s challenges, ensuring they address each client’s needs. Group-based therapy, individual psychotherapy, and family sessions ensure optimal progress in treatment and help improve each client’s quality of life.
Experienced clinicians provide multidisciplinary treatment utilizing medical, nutritional, psychological, and psychiatric interventions. Our treatment philosophy values collaboration with the community, including regular education and coordination with outpatient providers, family members, and other members of each client’s support system. The two-way communication with each client’s community ensures clients receive seamless continuity of care as they transition into and out of our program.

What Alumni, Families, and Clinical Partners Are Saying
“The team exceeded my expectations in all manners. They are the utmost professionals who clearly care about the patients they treat. Willing to coordinate care, they initiate consultations with all members of the treatment team and family. The therapists are astute clinicians with a clear acumen for the field of eating disorders. Their understanding of the subtle and nuanced dynamics at play in patients is excellent and they can communicate this to both the patients they treat, their families as well as all members of the treatment team. In turn, information gathered from attending psychiatrists, psychologists and clinicians also served to inform their work with shared patients. It is true wrap-around service with a concierge feel. More than anything, the warmth and care provided allow for the patients to do the vulnerable and brave work needed. I cannot recommend enough.”
